Soulful Roots

Detroit's Culinary Legacy

Chef Tone Extreme Catering grew up in Detroit's kitchen scene, shaped by nearly 30 years of hands-on experience and a military background that instilled discipline and a love of serving others. The story began with training as a military chef, cooking for troops in Germany and Saudi Arabia, and learning the importance of reliability and resourcefulness. After journeys through Georgia and South Carolina's food traditions, the dream took root back home. Running a popular Detroit restaurant for five years, Chef Tone built a reputation for soul food with real flavor and BBQ dishes that pull neighbors in from blocks away. Along the way, roles as manager with Bob Evans and food supervisor at Huron Valley prison added a deeper understanding of service and teamwork. Today, every gathering features menu creativity, hospitable staff, and an atmosphere tailored to honor community traditions. The mission remains simple: to bring families together over food made with heart, upholding Detroit's proud culinary spirit.

Chef Tone built a culinary path one dish at a time, starting in the kitchens of the U.S. military. With pots bubbling in army bases across Germany and Saudi Arabia, skill and discipline came first, always served with a side of genuine pride. Returning stateside with stories and recipes from abroad, Chef Tone opened a Detroit restaurant, welcoming neighbors and newcomers alike with signature soul food, BBQ classics, and dishes inspired by family celebrations. Years as a kitchen manager and food supervisor offered new lessons in teamwork and leadership. Staying grounded in the community, Chef Tone's business is about more than food - it's about honoring loved ones at homegoing celebrations, feeding seniors who need warmth and reliability, and creating moments that bring Detroit families together beneath the glow of shared tradition. Every menu, every event, tells a story about where the journey began and where the heart still belongs.
